Dante's Deli is Adelaide's newest, grab-and-go sandwich bar. We sat down with the three owners, brothers Taylor and Blake Ferrante and their friend Nick Buesnel, to learn more about their business and the inspiration behind it.

Taylor explains, "We were inspired by the booming sandwich trend in Melbourne over the past few years and wanted to bring that same grab-and-go culture to Adelaide."

With over a decade of experience in hospitality, the trio decided to turn their dream into a reality and create a welcoming space where customers can enjoy simple yet delicious sandwiches, great coffee, and an assortment of pastries and deli-style products. Blake shares what makes Dante’s stand out from the crowd, "We wanted to create an environment that is very free-flowing, where customers can hang out and spill out onto the street while they wait for their food."

The team have put a lot of thought into the design of the shop, with a clean and elegant shopfront that reflects the simplicity and quality of their products. When it comes to their location down Milton Street off Jetty Road, Nick explains, "We chose it because it has so much to offer. It's always flooded with people and has many spots where customers can come grab their lunch and enjoy." They believe they can fill a gap in the market with their quick and affordable sandwiches, which are perfect for a lunchtime sandwich fix.

Must try

Taylor highlights their bestseller, "It has to be our Sopressa Salami Sandwich with tomato, basil, fior di latte, and pickled chillies on our fresh Turkish bread. It sold out very fast at the Glenelg Street Party!"

For vegetarians

Blake recommends the eggplant sandwich, "It's made with caramelised onion, peperonata, artichoke, provolone, and rocket on our fresh Turkish bread. It's a real crowd pleaser."

For the sweet tooth

If you're in the mood for something sweet, they offer a selection of pastries, including cannoli and bombaloni, which are Italian cream-filled doughnuts. The perfect way to end your lunch break on a high note. Of course, you can't visit Dante's Deli without trying their coffee. Taylor proudly states, "It's the best coffee in Glenelg! Come and see us for a coffee and a sandwich, we want our customers to feel like they're walking into a friend's place, not just a shop."
