The Glenelg Ice Cream Festival returns in 2025 for the third summer in a row and with the mantle of the state’s biggest celebration of ice cream.

Jetty Road, Glenelg will be transformed into an ice cream lovers’ paradise from 4pm on Thursday 23 January 2025, with a showcase of our favourite summer treats, including ice cream, gelato and frozen yoghurt.

What’s a party without refreshing pop-up bars, great food, music, fashion, kids’ activities and more, including a dedicated Ice Cream Village featuring some of our best local and regional South Australia ice cream sellers?

It’s also the perfect opportunity to celebrate the event’s recent silver award win in the Festivals and Events category of the 2024 South Australian Tourism Awards.

The Glenelg Ice Cream Festival is the ultimate summer celebration, combining everything that we love about our part of the world – the ultimate beachside location, ice cream galore and great community spirit

The family-friendly street party attracted more than 30,000 people to this year’s event, with plans to make it bigger and better in 2025.

“There truly will be something for everyone at next year’s ice cream festival, and we’re looking forward to sharing it with not just locals but visitors from Adelaide, South Australia and beyond”, Holdfast Bay Deputy Mayor Susan Lonie said.

Along with Jetty Road traders, the Ice Cream Village will showcase more than 10 South Australian ice cream businesses while also representing a variety of cultures, including Italian, Thai, Filipino and Indian.

Free children’s activities, live entertainment, and a fashion parade hosted by Channel 7’s Gertie Spurling will feature fabulous fashion from Jetty Road boutiques. A sensory zone and quiet space is also being planned.

The fun continues the following day, on Friday 24 January 2025, when the Santos Tour Down Under rolls into Glenelg ahead of the start of the Hahn Men’s Stage 4: Glenelg to Victor Harbor.

The Tour Parade is expected to arrive around 9.30am into Colley Terrace, with the race starting at 11.10am.
