Butchering started for Dan as a simple after-school job when he was 13 years old.
Initially, he cleaned dishes, but by the age of 15, he was offered an apprenticeship, and the rest is history. What he loves most about the job is the trade and socialising with other butchers and customers.
In six years, SA Gourmet Meats has successfully expanded from one shop in Magill to now five across Adelaide, including their Jetty Rd Glenelg location. With a personable approach, they strive to offer a premium meat shopping experience for their customers. Contributing to this is their wonderful team, who have been chosen for their butchering skills and expertise, including Dan himself.

SA Gourmet Meats source their meat from local SA farmers and suppliers whenever possible and promises to only ever source animals that are ethically raised and fully compliant with Australia’s Integrity Systems Company’s red meat integrity guidelines.
